Owl Festival Logo and Poster Design

Yay! this is my last semester of graphic design class! This semester I'm in Advanced Graphic Design. In this class my classmates and I get to work with actual clients. Most of our clients are non profit organizations.

One of our first clients was Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo

They wanted a logo and poster for their annual event: The Colorado Owl Festival.

Here is one of my designs for the logo.

Usually when I work on a logo I'll Sketch it out on tracing paper with pencil then marker.

After sketching out the Rough idea for the logo I'll then refine the drawing.

Once I'm satisfied with the illustration I'll then work on it in Adobe Illustrator to cleanup the lines, add type, and color.

That's how I usually like to work with logo design.

The process is pretty much the same for the posters as for the logos.

I usually start by creating a watercolor illustration and then transfer it to illustrator in order to add graphic elements and type.
