This art series was inspired by Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony. As a composer, Beethoven had a profound admiration of nature. In anticipation of spring, I started this series in February.
The first artwork of the Botanical Instrument series is titled Horn Bouquet. I was inspired by the regal sound of the horn. My favorite characteristic about the horn is how, in an orchestra, it serves as a bridge between the woodwinds and brass sections. Although I would advise against putting a bouquet in an actual horn, satisfying this intrusive thought through an artwork is a beautiful compromise.
